I Call it 5-foot Nothing..

I have spent countless HOURS on instagram and pinterest and facebook and blogs looking for jeans to fit my body. I love that 5'4" seems to be the inclusive number for petites, however, I am still struggling to find things for us girlies who are right at the 5 foot mark. I call this gap the 5 foot-nothing because it sometimes feels like there is nothing for us gals!

I do think the time for petite fashion is NOW compared to when my mother and I were shopping in the 90's. We almost felt the need to spend the extra dollar at BUCKLE because they would do "free" alterations for length.... I always said.. "Why not just make that option available right now?"

Petites are FINALLY having a moment!

Now when we shop, we can most times find things labeled with a 'P' on our sizes. It finally feels inclusive to shop. You can be Curvy-Petite and feel welcomed by the label. Finally! The trick becomes finding clothes to love that offer that 'p' or "short" or "extra short."

Boogie or Budget?

I do not stick to one category because while I love a good steal.. quality still exists. Especially when it comes to a pair of good denim. You can just feel the difference. I will offer BOTH Boogie and Budget options. My goal it to NOT gatekeep allll the good sh*t I find, and over the last 10 years of hunting for Petite options... I have found some good sh*t!

Express vs Risen

I am wearing Express Curvy High Rise Jeans. If the store offers short, I feel excited to give it a try! NOPE. Big nope from me. Gorgeous fit on my booty. I wear a size 6 and these ran a teensy big, but generously so. It already gave the feel of second day wear. Huge win in my book. BUT again with this length? Is this actually short? Is this actually petite? I either have to return to store OR hem them! I don't want to do either. I am lazy, remember!

I am wearing RISEN JEANS in this photo. I was gifted this pair of jeans for Christmas nearly THREE years ago, and I still feel confident in them. While their "Short" is still faily long, the distressed bottom allows me to help further the distressing :) This pair of jeans also allows me to feel like everytime I wear them is day 2. I cannot get enough of that feeling. Its what I look for most in my jeans.
